About

Speak the Word of God.
Share the Love of Christ.
Make the Kingdom Visible.
This is our goal as a faith community; the methods we use to help guide us in being ambassadors for Christ.

In order to speak the Word of God, you must know the Word of God. We are constantly seeking new avenues of discipleship as we increase our knowledge of God's word. With Sunday School, bible studies, children and youth programs, most of which have an option for online engagement, these traditional forms of discipleship are available at times throughout the year. As we continue to grow, we are exploring new options for growth and learning, some of which will take advatage of electronic media.

Sharing the Love of Christ is all about compassion, and increasing the way we reach out to others. This focus begins with our home bound members and those in nursing facilities, making sure that those who cannot meet with us remain a part of the body. Outreach then follows to the rest of the congregation, being sensitive to each others needs in times of joy and trouble.

Missions work is the natural progression to this faith journey. One is not required to journey across the country or over borders to make the Kingdom visible, missions work is as simple as caring for those in our own back yards as it is for someone around the world. Our focus here is in making our faith tactile; in other words, engaging in hands on missions. We do our best in supporting one another and organizations already entrenched in serving the community, but the more we grow in faith, the more present we must be in the world.

The important thing to remember is that this process is perpetual. Our community changes as time goes on, and so we must constantly work on these goals. For the people of Chippewa UMC, we have been working at it for 225 years and counting. To those who were raised in this church, those who found your way here through friends or family by God's mercy, and to you who have yet to join us, know that we are all in this together.
